Job Brief
The Driver will be responsible for transporting individuals to and from Western Care Association services, as well as to other community locations and respite locations as necessary. These roles are to provide Relief cover across all transport routes within Co. Mayo in order to ensure safe, reliable, and supportive travel for persons supported.
Ensure all passengers and/or equipment is properly secured, including using the appropriate restraints for wheelchairs
Operate hoists in a safe manner and in line with training
Assist with loading/unloading of passengers
Check vehicle is in roadworthy condition before use, including checking of oil, water, windscreen wash, etc.
Ensure vehicles are kept clean and tidy both interior and exterior
Record the daily run details in logbook provided in each vehicle
Ensure the vehicle has appropriate levels of fuel before each journey, and to refuel where required in line with policy
Carry out administrative functions to record activities of the department in line with policy and procedures
Candidate Requirements
Clean full drivers licence (Class D or DI essential)
Proven experience of carrying passengers as part of previous work history
Up to date CPC training is essential

Other Requirements
All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting and Reference checks.
Applicants from countries outside the E.U. must provide relevant work authorization to take up employment in the Republic of Ireland. This documentation must be submitted with the application.
Applicants who have lived outside of the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland for more than six months since the age of 16 will be required to provide Overseas Police Clearance.
Salary Scales
Bus Driver Pay Scale (Scale Range €35,068 - €42,439 per annum; this is based on full time working hours i.e. 39 per week)
