Senior Manager – Vice President Hedge Fund Accounting

The successful applicant will maintain the client relationship, take responsibility for coordination and allocation of the team’s workload, and ensure compliance with internal and external controls in the area of hedge fund accounting. You should have relevant experience in the auditing or administration of hedge funds. You will have a proven knowledge of the fund industry and should have demonstrated experience in a similar role. Experience working on Geneva would also be highly beneficial for this position.
Responsibilities
* Review and oversee the reconciliation and calculation of periodic (daily/weekly/monthly) net asset values of various funds, including:
o Reconciliation of investment portfolios, dividends and interest, corporate actions, and investor capital activity.
o Dealing with requests from and communicating with the investment manager and investors regarding all aspects of the account’s operation.
o Updating accounting and client relationship management systems, updating and verifying statistical information, overseeing financial statements preparation, and working with external auditors.
o Review of hybrid fee structures calculation at each NAV.
* Oversee outsourced offices and their assigned relationships, ensuring timely and accurate NAV calculation along with any other client-specific reporting requirements.
* Liaise with Investment Managers, Auditors, Brokers, Custodians, and Investors.
* Ensure client enquiries are answered in accordance with Apex service standards on an ongoing basis.
* Ensure that all client cash instructions are processed (e.g., fund expense payments).
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and other requirements of the fund’s specifications.
* Adhere to internal deadlines for reporting and MIS, and ensure accurate internal revenue reporting.
* Supervise, train, and recruit accounting staff; delegate work effectively across the team; maintain clear communication with colleagues and related departments.
Skills and Qualifications
* At least 4-5 years of extensive fund accounting experience, including supervision of teams.
* Experience with general ledger accounting.
* Strong computer skills, including Excel and Word; advanced Excel skills desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
* Ability to think critically and objectively.
* Flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
* University degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics (or overseas equivalent) preferred.
* Geneva experience would be advantageous.
