Our organisation is seeking a professional to lead our advocacy and public engagement efforts.

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for enabling people who are vision-impaired and families of children with autism to lead better lives and become more mobile and independent.


About the Role

* To identify the needs of blind and visually impaired clients, as well as families of children with autism, and develop advocacy strategies to support them.
* Influence policy makers to create a more inclusive environment for people with disabilities.
* BUILD STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AND ALLIANCES WITH ORGANISATIONS THAT SHARE OUR VALUES.
* Raise awareness about the rights and entitlements of our clients, positioning the charity as a thought leader in the sector.
* To provide information, support, and advice to clients about their rights, enabling them to make informed decisions.
* Encourage others to get involved and amplify the work of the charity.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-to-one and group advocacy services to clients.
* Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key partners in the sector.
* Represent the organisation regionally and nationally, increasing awareness about advocacy entitlements for clients and raising the profile of issues affecting them.
* Advocate to local authorities, government, and public sector bodies on policies, planning, and legislation that impact our clients.
* Act as a spokesperson for advocacy issues, representing the charity's and clients' opinions.
