Amazon Consumer Payments team at Amazon India Development Center, Bangalore is looking for developers to design and build next generation global payments solutions that revolutionize the way customers pay. The Amazon Payments Team manages all Amazon branded payment offerings, globally, and continuously adds new market‑leading features and launches new products. Our payments products (Amazon Co‑Branded Credit Cards, Private Labeled Credit Cards, Non‑Amazon Branded Credit Cards, Shop with Points and Foreign Exchange) provide the most innovative payment experience on and off Amazon. We manage a financial services ad‑serving platform with 100+ billions of impressions per year through Amazon’s purchase path, offering Amazon branded and non‑branded payment products and services.
The role offers developers a huge opportunity to build a strong portfolio of patents for Amazon, defining and implementing extensible, multi‑faceted solutions that support global and region‑specific payment protocols and workflows. This critical program for Consumer Payments has high leadership visibility and offers significant business value.
Primary Responsibilities
Define, design, and implement multi‑tier distributed software applications.
Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles.
Independently design code and test major features, and work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes.
Collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced environment with multiple teams in a large organization (software development, QA, Project/Release Management, Build and Release, etc.).
Provide on‑call production support for payments services.
Key Job Responsibilities
Lead a team of SDEs responsible for MAPLE’s rendering pipeline, experimentation platform, and marketplace expansion.
Own the technical strategy for MAPLE’s integration with upstream systems and downstream rendering services.
Drive a high‑velocity experimentation culture across Dynamic CX, Show Rate optimization, new traffic channels, and value recoup initiatives.
Partner with product, marketing, and partner teams across Amazon Payments to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
Ensure operational excellence across a system serving billions of impressions across US, CA, EU5, IN, and JP marketplaces on desktop, mobile web, and mobile app.
Drive platform modernization efforts including service migrations, deprecations, and GenAI adoption in operational workflows.

APP serves tens of millions of customers worldwide through a global portfolio of products, emphasizing rewards, easy access to credit, and the simplicity to sell or buy cross‑border on Amazon in local currency. APP continually seeks to launch new payment and financial services products, features and programs worldwide, making shopping on Amazon ever more rewarding and convenient.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of engineering team management experience.
7+ years of engineering experience.
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi‑tier web services experience.
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
