Key Responsibilities
* Set an example for the team in terms of work ethic, communication, leadership, and personal behavior.
* Responsibility for site and presentation standards throughout the organisation.
* Ensure optimum standards are maintained in all aspects of the business with a particular emphasis on employee and customer experience.
* Create and nurture a performance-driven environment.
* Lead and manage the senior management team to ensure maximum efficiency, profitability, and clear communication.
* Manage performance of financial, commercial, and operational challenges and targets for all areas of the business along with timely reporting.
* Ensure the organisation structure is fit-for-purpose and manage the recruitment, onboarding, personnel training and development along with individual performance management.
* Undertake collaboration and communication in a timely and concise manner with Group Directors and Senior Managers.
* Implement best practice standards in health and safety (including compliance with all legal obligations) and employee wellbeing.
* Taking lead on a process to review all channels of customer feedback so that shortcomings are identified and corrective SMART action plans are implemented and strengths are highlighted and communicated.
* Be an exemplary ambassador for the business and seek to enhance the reputation of the business at every opportunity.
* Ensure adherence to all mandatory manufacturer standards in all aspects of the business.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
* Minimum 5 years' experience within a General Manager/Dealer Principal role within a franchise dealer.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and performance management skills, especially in a pressurised environment.
* Planning and organising skills.
* A flexible and adaptable approach.
* The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Business and financial acumen.
* Experience in the areas of talent acquisition, retention, and staff development.
* Experience in maintaining exemplary customer relations.
* IT skills continuously developed as required by the role.
* Proven ability to manage major projects.
* Experience and knowledge of modern business methods and financial control.
* Relevant and up-to-date knowledge of vehicle trends, consumer and vehicle legislation, industry, and trade practices.
* Analytical and critical thinking skills.
* A proactive approach to developing, implementing, and maintaining best practice systems and processes.
* Career Level: Senior Executive.
* Candidate Requirements: Essential - Minimum experience required (years): 8, Minimum qualification: Level 7 (incl Diploma & Ordinary Bachelor Degree).
