The team deliver projects and programmes from inception through construction and to hand-over, ensuring that UÉ delivers on its commitments with regard to outcomes and outputs which provide key benefits for the customer and the environment. WSP, GDD and IDDReporting to the Programme Manager, the Project Manager role will be to focus on project/programme/contract delivery, primarily utilising UÉ's supply chain delivery partners. The role will involve the management of a multidisciplinary team typically and close liaison with both internal functions and external service providers and stakeholders, to ensure safe delivery, which is to the necessary quality standards, on-time and to budget. Sustainability and innovation targets will be a vital part of project and programme deliverables.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Accountable to the Programme Manager / Portfolio Manager in charge for the delivery of the project/programme/contract with focus on the design, procurement, construction delivery, budget management, scheduling and technical quality output.Management of a diverse range of third-party expertise across a multi-disciplinary set of skills to ensure the delivery of assigned projects/programmes.Preparation, management and assessment of tender documentation/submissions, including pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), for procurement of delivery partners to carry out design, project management, supervision and construction of the project/project.Project manage the project/programme's design, estimation and construction, including all relevant statutory processes, stakeholder management and monitoring/reporting.Applying UÉ governance standards and approaches consistently to the development and delivery of programmes and projects, in particular inputting and supporting the development of submissions across approval gates 1 to 4.Developing optimised delivery plans and project/ programme execution strategies to maximise the opportunity for efficient and timely capital delivery. This is to be done in line with the structured workshop processes to ensure effective engagement with key stakeholders, supporting the creation of and taking account of relevant I2O enhancements as identified.Enhancing our client relationships with the supply chain to assure smooth and stable delivery of the portfolio.Participate in the identification of opportunities to drive increased value in the delivery of project/ programmes through the application of Value Management/ Engineering techniques/ processes.Support the development of cost estimates for programmes and projects, utilising UÉ's costs estimating processes and systems.Managing the identification, management and mitigation of project/ programme risks and opportunities, and the management of associated contingencies, escalating where required.Supporting the handover and commission of assets back into service in conjunction with Asset Operations and with Customer Operations, deliver assigned connection activities/projects/programmes in line with business commitments and ensure the process is fit for purpose, putting the customer first.Working with Corporate Affairs to support the development of effective community and customer engagement strategies.Contribute to the capture of project/ programme performance data through the regular monthly update cycles for performance monitoring and reporting purposes, and for working with the Commercial team on appropriate management, escalation and resolution of commercial and contracting issues, as well as efficient site supervisory approaches.Adopt an adaptable and flexible approach to change, innovation and continuous improvement in the team, leading by example and ensuring all team members understand the role that they play in delivering change.General Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business, including but not limited to;Asset Management & Sustainability in particular Asset Planning,COO – Asset Operations and Customer Operations,Business Services – Supply Chain,People & Safety – HSQE in particular the EHS team,Corporate Affairs.Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.Other duties as required.Knowledge, Skills and Experience:Demonstrable experience of Project and/or Programme management and delivery of large programmes/projectsRelevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirableA minimum of 5 years' experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experienceDemonstrate people management experience, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skillsExperience providing coaching in the development of the technical skills and abilities in othersAbility to develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externallyProven track record of creating a collaborative environment and communicate clearly within the teamProven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to othersExperience in managing end-to-end processes to ensure delivery meets customer expectationsStrong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutionsDemonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirementsProactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the jobSkilled in continuously reviewing safety practices and suggest ways for improvementThe closing date for receipt of applications for this vacancy is29/01/2026.Please note that applications submitted after this closing date will not be accepted.*Please be advised that if successful you will be placed on the salary range based on your skills and experience.
