Baile an Aoire, part of Good Shepherd Cork (GSC) provides long-term supported housing to women who are vulnerable, offering a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment where residents can rebuild stability, independence, and wellbeing.We work from a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, grounded in respect, dignity, and choice. We are now recruiting for an experienced Manager who will be responsible for the delivery and development of this service, aimed at providing a welcoming, compassionate, and professional service to all residents.This Full-Time, Permanent position will involve working 39 hours per week. Some flexibility will be required around working hours and some out of hours on-call will be required. Applications could be considered from candidates available on a part-time (30+ hours) basis.Job PurposeThe Manager will establish, lead, and ensure the effective and efficient management of the service, in line with the mission, vision, and values of Good Shepherd Cork.You will provide strategic leadership and management to the staff team, ensuring the ongoing development and enhancement of the service to meet the needs of residents. The role also contributes to the wider strategic development of Good Shepherd Cork through active participation in the organisation's management team.Specific Responsibilities:GeneralProvide a quality service that optimises continuity of care for residentsEnsure all residents have an appropriate up to date care planManage all service resources effectively within allocated budgetsEnsure compliance with all statutory and legal requirementsOversee hygiene, maintenance and Health & Safety requirements of the service, ensuring premises and grounds are kept safe, clean and well maintainedEnsure all documentation and records are managed professionally and in compliance with Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection legislationEnsure residents' medication is managed safelyLiaise with medical, primary care, mental health, and therapeutic services as requiredWork collaboratively with managers of other Good Shepherd Cork services to ensure a seamless, integrated serviceContribute to the development and implementation of organisational and strategic plans.Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as assignedHuman ResourcesEnsure all staff have access to regular one to one supervision and performance appraisalOversee an effective performance management and development frameworkIdentify training needs and facilitate relevant staff development opportunitiesManage recruitment and induction of staff as requiredRecruit and support volunteers to enhance service deliveryOrganise shift rosters to ensure efficient staffing within budgetary constraintsMaintain accurate records of staff contracts, annual leave and other absences in line with policies and proceduresFunders & RegulationManage effective working relationships funders and referral agenciesEnsure accurate and complete record keeping for statutory, regulatory and funding purposesEnsure kitchen and catering arrangements comply with Environmental Health Authority regulationsKey Requirements and attributes:A recognised professional qualification in Social Care or an appropriate equivalentA minimum of seven years post qualification experienceSenior management or leadership experience ideally within the community & voluntary or public sectorsStrategic thinking and ability to contribute to strategic planning and development of the service and the wider Good Shepherd CorkExcellent judgement, interpersonal, decision-making and teamworking skillsA professional, caring and empathetic approach to working with women who are marginalisedStrong understanding of and commitment to trauma informed careStrong IT and administrative skillsFull clean driving licence is essentialCommitment to the vision, mission and values of Good Shepherd Cork.Desirable Requirements:Experience working in residential care or homelessness serviceExperience managing women-only or specialist support servicesSalary & BenefitsCompetitive salary aligned with organisational pay scalesCompany pension scheme, available after the qualifying periodGenerous annual leave entitlement, in line with organisational policyCompany sick pay scheme, subject to terms and conditionsEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP) providing confidential supportTraining and professional development opportunitiesSupportive and inclusive working environment within a values-driven organisationSafeguardingGood Shepherd Cork is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of women and vulnerable adults.
