Location: Tullamore, Co Offaly Ireland
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience Level: 1–3 years
About Photo Experience
Photo Experience is a market leader in creating memorable photographic moments for families and visitors across Ireland and the UK. We specialise in high-quality, instant photography solutions at tourist attractions, events, and seasonal experiences. Our goal is simple: to capture memories and deliver them in a fun, professional, and efficient way.
This Christmas season, we are bringing the magic of Santa to life by offering families the chance to have their photos taken with Santa and purchase beautiful keepsakes on the spot.
About the Role
We are looking for a Deployment & Support Engineer who enjoys solving real-world problems and working hands-on with technology. This is a hybrid role that combines lightweight technical support with meaningful engineering work involving Linux/Windows system setup, scripting, and hardware-software integration.
You will be the first point of contact for support calls and emails, helping our partners resolve system issues. Support volume is generally low, so most of your time will be spent on deploying systems built on SBCs, building automation tools, and improving the reliability and efficiency of our platforms in the field.
This role is based in Tullamore, Ireland, and may require occasional travel to customer sites across Ireland, and occasionally the UK, for installations, diagnostics, or on-site support. A valid driving license is required.
Please note: Our business operates on a flexible schedule that may vary throughout the year. During busy seasonal periods, support may be required during late nights, weekends, or holidays, as we run multiple shifts. We appreciate flexibility in this role and, of course, alternative days off will be provided to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

 * Troubleshoot and resolve system-level and hardware-software issues
 * Communicate clearly and professionally with partners throughout the support process
 * Use sound judgment to resolve issues independently or escalate when appropriate
Hardware-Software Troubleshooting
 * Work with systems involving sensors, relays, lights, cameras, and other peripherals
 * Investigate issues across hardware-software boundaries
 * Collaborate with engineering teams to validate and debug system behaviour
Automation
 * Write scripts in Bash or Python
 * Automate installation, configuration, and updates
 * Simplify diagnostics and support processes
 * Identify repetitive manual tasks and build tools to streamline workflows
What We are Looking For- Must-Have Skills
 * Hands-on experience with both Linux and Windows systems
 * Ability to troubleshoot basic system and network issues
 * Familiarity with scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
 * Comfortable working with connected hardware devices (e.g., USB, GPIO, cameras, relays)
 * Strong communication skills, especially over phone and email
 * Willingness to travel occasionally across Ireland/UK for on-site support
 * A valid driving license
 * Self-motivated, curious, and eager to work with evolving technologies
Nice-to-Have
 * Experience with systems built on Single-Board Computers (SBCs)
 * Familiarity with remote access tools (SSH, RDP) and system logs
 * Exposure to version control (Git), Docker, or automation tools
 * Interest in AI, computer vision, or hardware prototyping
 * Previous experience in a technical support, field service, or deployment role
 * Multilingual skills, especially in a Western European language (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Dutch) are a plus
