Maintenance and Engineering Manager
Job Overview:
The Maintenance and Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in the site team, driving efficiency and maximizing production output.
This key position is responsible for the maintenance and engineering management of the site, ensuring equipment, plant, and property operate at optimal levels.
As part of the management team, the manager will be involved in day-to-day business activities, staying close to operational issues and requirements, and managing projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure that the site manufacturing equipment performance meets or exceeds all required KPIs.
* Develop strategies to ensure all technician training has been identified and support the ongoing skills enhancement of members of the Maintenance teams.
* Implement planned preventative maintenance and establish plans to ensure regulatory conformance always.
* Conduct periodic maintenance systems review, identify, and execute continuous improvement projects focused on equipment performance, application of best practice maintenance strategies to sustain these improvements long-term.
* Ensure all maintenance work performed on site meets Health & Safety and Quality standards.
* Drive the Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance.
* Owning planning systems for the Maintenance Function.
* Leading the maintenance technician group.
* Establishing, maintaining, and developing maintenance procedures for production lines in a GMP manufacturing environment to ensure production meets or performs better than expected.
* Supporting plant optimization across production, filling, and packing, utilities, and intake.
* Establishing performance standards and optimizing performance across all processes in the plant.
* Engaging with stakeholders including Quality and Production teams in the prioritization, development, design, and testing of new or enhanced processes.
* Working with the Production team to plan and execute agreed changes.
* Utilizing data insights to recommend interventions to drive performance.
* Troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities to enhance plant performance and drive KPI improvement.
Applicants should possess:
1. A sound, hands-on, mechanical, and electrical knowledge of equipment, including refrigeration, conveyers, and packaging.
2. Previous experience of managing and leading maintenance teams, ideally in a food manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
3. Previous experience of using and managing preventive maintenance systems.
4. Strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
5. Good verbal and written communication skills.
6. High attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Flexible and adaptable with a strong work ethic. Able to respond effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
8. Ability to comply with existing/quickly adapt to new processes within the organization.
9. Proven working experience in maintenance and project management.
10. Good communication and influencing skills.
11. Proven organizational skills/ability to work on own initiative.
12. Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
