Hours: Part time, 18.75 hours per week

Salary: €30,731 - €38,833

Summary of the role: The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) practice will include a major clinical focus, encompassing assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care given to children and their families. As a member of the inter‑disciplinary team, the CNS will work collaboratively with other team members to provide the highest standard of specialist palliative nursing care to children with life‑limiting conditions and palliative care needs. The CNS will participate in children's palliative care research and audit and act as a consultant in education and clinical practice to nursing colleagues and the wider inter‑disciplinary team. The CNS will facilitate and support teams to implement evidence‑based practice and will contribute to the continuing development of children's palliative care at LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice.

Essential Criteria:
* Current registration in the Children's Division of the Register of Nurses held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
* Post‑registration level 9 qualification (major award) on the National Qualifications Framework of Ireland in Palliative Care or equivalent
* Minimum of 1 year post‑registration experience and 1 year specialist experience working with children with life‑limiting conditions / palliative care needs
* In‑depth knowledge of the role of the CNS
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal and team‑working skills
* Ability to make high‑level clinical and leadership decisions
* Ability to work within an inter‑disciplinary team
