The ideal candidate brings energy, imagination, and initiative to develop meaningful and engaging activities that promote joy, well-being, and community within the home.Responsibilities and Duties:Highly enthusiastic with a genuine passion for working with older adultsSelf-motivated, able to take initiative, and work independentlyCreative thinker who enjoys developing new ideas, events, and activitiesWarm, positive, and able to inspire participation from residentsFlexible, proactive, and adaptable to changing needsActivity Planning & DeliveryDevelop and implement a weekly and monthly activities programme tailored to residents' needs, preferences, and care plans.Organise group activities such as games, crafts, music, exercise sessions, themed events, and social gatherings.Provide one-to-one activities for residents who are unable or unwilling to join group sessions.Adapt activities to support residents living with dementia, reduced mobility, or other needs.Resident Engagement & Well-beingBuild positive relationships with residents to understand their life histories, interests, and abilities.Encourage participation and create inclusive, welcoming environments.Monitor residents' engagement and provide feedback to care staff and management.Support residents emotionally by offering companionship and meaningful interaction.Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with nursing, care, and therapy teams to ensure activities align with residents' care goals.Liaise with community groups, entertainers, volunteers, and external organisations to enrich the activity programme.Record Keeping & AdministrationMaintain accurate records of activities offered and resident participation.Complete risk assessments for planned activities and ensure all activities comply with safety and safeguarding standards.Manage the activities budget responsibly and source supplies as needed.Health & SafetyEnsure all activities are conducted in a safe, clean, and supportive environment.Follow all safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety policies.Report any concerns regarding resident well-being to senior staff promptly.Qualifications / Skills:EssentialExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to motivate, encourage, and engage older adults.Creative thinking and strong organisational skills.Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused.Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings, weekends, and special events.DesirableExperience working in a care home, community care, or activity-based role.Training in dementia care or therapeutic activities.Knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety requirements.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentJob Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:On-site parkingWork Location: In person
