R&D Engineer Job Description
Role Summary
We are seeking a talented R&D Engineer to join our team in Galway. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in developing innovative solutions for medical interventions.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and Development: Design, develop, and provide technical input to R&D projects following international standards and regulations.
* Packaging Development: Lead packaging development and testing for new and existing products.
* Test Methods: Develop, document, and validate test methods and train relevant teams.
* Manufacturing Process: Support manufacturing processes using design for six sigma (DFSS) and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
* Data Analysis: Analyze and summarise test data, presenting findings to project leaders.
* Problem-Solving: Apply six sigma and other problem-solving techniques to improve product design.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with the quality assurance department to develop test, verification, and validation procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, biomedical, or a related scientific discipline.
* Experience: At least 1 year of experience as an R&D Engineer in the medical device industry.
* Skills: Strong knowledge of biomechanics, mechanical design, and analysis.
