Job Summary
The Data Governance and Strategic Data Projects Implementation Manager will lead and oversee AP Health Operations data governance framework, ensuring data quality, compliance, and security. In addition, this role will take ownership of strategic data architecture projects, driving the design, implementation, and optimization of AP Health Operations data to support business objectives. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and technical expertise to align data governance and architecture initiatives with the Group strategic priorities.
Responsibilities

Lead and oversee AP Health Operations data governance framework, ensuring data quality, compliance, and security.
Own strategic data architecture projects—design, implement, and optimize data to support business objectives.
Develop and implement strategies across data streams: intelligence reporting, insights & analytics, governance & projects, data science & AI.
Implement sustainable goals for functional data teams and manage project flow across them.
Act as catalyst for the Group global prioritization model, organizing daily activities of data teams based on organizational goals.
Devises new models and initiatives that support organization objectives.
Ensure data manageability and provide support to accelerate data‑driven digital transformation; identify opportunities for process streamlining and automation using data tools.
Keep team updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies in data analysis and insights; foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and maintain data governance standards, minimizing regulatory risk.
Adhere to Group data practices, policies and standards at technical and functional levels; act as single point of contact for data quality and governance.
Liaise between business and technical areas, protecting sensitive and confidential data.
Develop and maintain data governance frameworks: policies, standards, processes.
Define roles and responsibilities for data ownership and stewardship across the organization.
Manage data quality metrics and monitoring systems; collaborate with business units to resolve issues.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and internal policies; mitigate risks related to data usage, privacy and security.
Promote data governance awareness and adoption; provide training and support to data stewards and stakeholders.
Evaluate and implement data governance tools—metadata management, lineage, cataloging.
Define and maintain a data architecture strategy; develop roadmaps for initiatives such as cloud migration, integration, and analytics platforms.
Lead and manage strategic data architecture projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality outcomes.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define project scope, objectives and deliverables.
Manage and lead Governance and Projects team across locations; provide guidance, mentorship and professional growth support.
Act as catalyst for change; influence and motivate team to improve quality and productivity through business process change.
Unify data reporting, implement Analytics governance and framework across all AP Health units and entities.
Integrate business units into the Global Data & Analytics model; integrate tools into data warehouse to enable streamlining and AI initiatives.
Chair Global Functional Expert Data Committee and Academy; manage data projects and oversee project leads.
Ensure flow of work from functional teams to committee; establish governance and framework for the committee.
Leverage operational business streams and profitability drivers to provide recommendations to Operation Leadership & Management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; mathematical, statistical or medical qualification is an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data analytics, data projects or governance roles, preferably within insurance or financial services.
Full English proficiency.
Strong sense of mission, vision for transformation efforts, adaptability to dynamic environments and team leadership.
Result‑oriented; ability to make prompt, intelligent decisions based on detailed analysis of complex issues.
Detail‑oriented, high accuracy and quality focus.
Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation and customer‑focused skills.
Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize tasks, monitor performance and meet tight deadlines.
Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to develop creative, documented recommendations and solutions.
Commitment to work ethics and dedication to achieve goals.
Ability to simplify complex topics and analytics to provide insights to senior leadership.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAS, R, M, Alteryx, Power BI or Qlik Sense is a plus.
