Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - Theatre, OrthopaedicsFull time | recruitNet | IrelandPosted On 03/03/2026Job InformationHospitalCity CorkState/Province CorkCorkJob DescriptionRecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.We are urgently seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - Theatre, Orthopaedics (Full Time) for a hospital in Cork Ireland.ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate daily operations within the Orthopaedic Theatre to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centred care.Supervise, support, and mentor nursing and support staff, promoting professional development and high performance.Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention and control standards, and best practice guidelines.Oversee theatre scheduling, patient flow, and resource allocation in collaboration with surgical and anaesthetic teams.Maintain high standards of perioperative nursing care (pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases).Ensure correct handling, counting, and documentation of surgical instruments and implants specific to orthopaedic procedures.Monitor and maintain stock levels of orthopaedic implants, prostheses, and theatre equipment.Participate in clinical audits, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to HIQA and national healthcare standards.Support multidisciplinary collaboration with surgeons, anaesthetists, physiotherapists, and ward teams.Manage incidents, complaints, and clinical risks in accordance with hospital policy.Contribute to staff rostering, performance appraisals, and workforce planning.RequirementsRegistered with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).Minimum of 3 years post-registration acute care nursing experience, with essential experience in a Theatre setting.Strong knowledge and clinical experience in Orthopaedic surgery.Demonstrable commitment to Patient Safety and Quality standards.Excellent knowledge of contemporary nursing practices and clinical skills.Strong organisational and time-management skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Preceptorship qualification and relevant experience.
