Deputy Project Manager – Onsite (Port of Nigg, Scotland)

Europlan Group is a leading international engineering and project services company, delivering innovative, safety-driven solutions to the energy and industrial sectors.
We have been awarded the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) contract for the development of a subsea power cable manufacturing factory at the Port of Nigg in the Scottish Highlands with Japanese multinational company Sumitomo Electric. The project will support the delivery of critical infrastructure to help build resilient supply chains for the offshore wind and renewable energy sectors.
We provide accommodation, full onsite support, and rotation flights back to Ireland, to ensure a balanced work-life schedule.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our project leadership team and play a key role in the successful delivery of one of the UK’s largest renewable energy manufacturing facilities.
The Role
As Deputy Project Manager, you will support the Project Manager in coordinating day-to-day site delivery activities, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
You will work across civil, structural, and MEP interfaces, managing permits, RAMS, QA documentation, and progress reporting, while liaising closely with the client and key subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Support daily coordination and look-ahead planning for site activities.
* Oversee subcontractors and ensure works align with project schedules and safety standards.
* Review and manage RAMS, permits to work, QA/ITP documentation, and test records.
* Track progress, risks, and issues, maintaining accurate records and action logs.
* Liaise with client representatives and coordinate across disciplines (MEP/civils/QA).
* Support commissioning, close-out, and handover documentation.
* Attend daily/weekly coordination meetings and prepare progress reports.
What We’re Looking For
* Degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Civil, or MEP Engineering.
* 3–5 years’ experience in industrial/manufacturing or large-scale building projects.
* Experience with CDM environments, subcontract/package coordination, and QA systems.
* Familiar with MS Project or Primavera P6, Excel, SharePoint, and document control tools (Aconex/Asite).
* SSSTS/SMSTS and CSCS certifications (or willingness to obtain).
* Strong written and verbal communication, with a methodical and proactive approach.
