Vertiv in Letterkenny, Ireland, specializes in the design, build, and distribution of Modular Data Centre modules. Our facilities in Burnfoot and Derry supply switchgear and busbar components. We manufacture complete distribution systems, including MV and LV switchgear, busbar trunking, energy management systems, and modular power solutions, with all processes carried out in-house.

With recent investments in advanced tin-plating and silver-plating facilities, Vertiv’s engineering capabilities have been significantly enhanced. We are now seeking a Senior Project Electrical Design Engineer to join our team.
Position Summary
Designing and developing modular buildings for customized solutions, adhering to high standards and demanding specifications.
Electrical design for projects (including Electrical, Fire Alarm, and Controls systems) during factory integration in Letterkenny.
Coordination with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, and mechanical engineering, focusing on general design, concepts, and calculations.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the design team on developing construction documentation sets.
Participate in selecting low-voltage equipment (distribution, UPS, batteries).
Prepare manufacturing documentation and Bills of Materials for installation and non-critical equipment.
Supervise and support the factory equipment setup at Letterkenny.
Provide engineering support to the service team and subcontractors.
Review design content and constructability, providing feedback to the design community.
Work with project management, quality control, manufacturing, testing, and construction teams to define deployment strategies and execute projects.
Ensure proper documentation, FAT procedures, installation manuals, and assist with punch list items.
Coordinate with other Vertiv engineering specialists to implement optimal solutions.
Collaborate with local service teams to improve project execution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
Proficiency in Windows, MS Office, AutoCAD; preferred: Revit, EPLAN.
Strong English language skills (B2 level).
Ability to establish effective teamwork, analyze problems, and make decisions.
Physical & Environmental Demands
Work in both office and factory environments.
Travel Requirements
Approximately 5% travel to our plant in Croatia.
