Job Details
Senior scientist to work on innovation, development and characterisation of next generation tissue adhesives and current new product development projects.

What will this role involve?
Actively contribute towards innovation and product development of new technological solutions for unmet medical needs.
Engage in constructive scientific collaborations and discussions to leverage expertise from internal and external partners through partnerships and research grants.
Review of peer reviewed scientific journals, books and patent literature to scope the advancements and work towards finding solutions to complex problems through advancing technology.
Design, develop, perform, analyse and interpret controlled laboratory-based investigations, experiments and pilot batches.
Consider GLP and GDP regulations for all activities.
In consultation, develop prototypes in line with Customer Insights / requirements presenting ideas & concepts to internal & external clients.
Develop preparation methods and new analytical methods for manufacturing and characterization of new product developments (NPDs).
Applies statistical methods and design of experiments (DoE) for optimization and evaluation.
Transfer validated laboratory methods into SOPs.
Create scientific reports about new findings.
Design presentations understandable for general management, for colleagues from other departments, for partners and suppliers, including graphic illustrations, schematic drawings, and videos.
Support the sourcing of new analytical and preparative equipment, fixtures and fittings.
Correlate your findings with data from literature.
Support IP by performing the local patent and trademark administration.
Characterisation of competitor samples. Comparison of competitor samples with NPDs regarding all relevant parameters. Prepare equivalence reports.
Work with colleagues from other departments for internal and external audits, develop business cases, regulatory submissions and marketing literature as required.
Contribute to departmental meetings and forums and contribute to the systematic improvement of the department in a positive, pragmatic, and enthusiastic manner.

What we're looking for?
Educated to Master's or PhD level with background in Polymer chemistry, Organic chemistry, Biomaterials, Pharmaceutical sciences, Medicinal chemistry or equivalent.
Knowledge of medical device QMS, Regulatory landscape and associated standards.
Previous product development experience of regulated products such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Critical thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
