Construction Regional Safety Engineer, AWS Data Center Health and Safety
This role is for an experienced health and safety professional supporting AWS data center planning and delivery programs. You will collaborate with internal teams such as real estate, permitting, construction, and security, as well as external contractors, to ensure safety standards and improve safety culture across regions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deploy health and safety programs covering leadership, planning, operational controls, and continuous improvement.
2. Review risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety management programs.
3. Coordinate with project managers to prioritize safety in all project phases.
4. Monitor contractor compliance and conduct safety kickoff and review sessions.
5. Document data and trends for safety performance reports.
6. Manage safety resources and identify improvement opportunities.
7. Conduct site audits and safety reviews with teams.
8. Engage in regional safety initiatives and drive safety risk management using data and anecdotes.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or higher degree in industrial hygiene, environmental health, safety, or related field.
* Minimum 5 years of safety management experience in construction, with a focus on data center environments.
* Experience with international safety standards (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, etc.).
* Proficiency with safety tools such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Tableau, Procore, Avetta.
* Advanced safety certifications (e.g., BCSP, NEBOSH) preferred.
* Strong leadership, communication, and compliance program development skills.
