Due to exceptional success in the previous decade, MLK opened a new 12,500 sq ft workshop in 2019, just outside Roscommon town. Their highly skilled staff now have a modern manufacturing plant with state-of-the-art, best-in-class machinery producing high-quality kitchen furniture. They work at a rapid pace, turning out 20 kitchens a week.
About the job
You will play a critical role in streamlining the manufacturing facility, using your Lean Manufacturing initiatives and ensuring smooth logistics, quality control, and timely deliveries. You will lead assembly, delivery, and installation teams, manage the inventory and supply chain, and implement ERP systems to optimise workflow. Ideally, you will be doing a similar job already.
You will be a strategic leader with a strong background in operations management, process improvement, and team leadership. This role is crucial to ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery across all aspects of production and installation. From your experience to date, they’d like you to be able to address issues and provide solutions almost immediately. For example, as you know, snags in operations can be costly. MLK are keen to minimise these as much as possible. Your experience with quality control will be vital here as it will be linked to your considerable bonus. In addition, you’ll build a database of sub-contractor fitters who can help MLK scale.
Overseeing up to 40 staff, you’ll be able to motivate team managers to deliver excellence. With company growth targets of 20% YoY, you’ll have the capability to retain and recruit staff of the highest standards.
