As we continue toward becoming Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Enterprise Architect. This role will shape and guide the enterprise architecture to enable the business to scale, adapt, and innovate. You will provide leadership that fosters alignment across IT and the wider organisation by promoting shared capabilities, reusable solutions, and common standards. Move from reactive problem-solving to proactive roadmap development that anticipates business needs and market changes. Minimise customisation and fragmented solutions, focusing on modular building blocks and microservices that drive speed to value, operational efficiency, and seamless customer experiences. Build a strong architecture community by mentoring, developing career pathways, and embedding best practices to grow the next generation of retail technology leaders.
What you’ll be Doing
Area of Responsibility: Strategy & Roadmap
* Develop the overall IT vision and investment strategy, aligned to the overall company strategy and goals.
* Understand disruptive forces and the business’s economic and financial levers that are susceptible to digital transformation to effectively guide technology investment decisions.
* Translate strategy into an architectural roadmap, modelling the transition and migration steps required to reach the target architecture. Communicate the roadmap effectively to all stakeholders.
* Continuously review all IT services and underlying architectures to identify duplication, obsolescence, gaps compared to peers/competitors, and unnecessary complexity; update strategy and roadmaps accordingly.
* Monitor the market to gain knowledge of emerging technologies and assess their relevance and potential for Musgrave.
* Ensure a scalable, secure, flexible, and extensible architecture that can adapt to changing business and competitor environments.
Area of Responsibility: Manage the EA Practice
* Develop and maintain the EA framework, methodologies, skills, disciplines, and principles.
* Define, develop and embed architectural principles and standards across the group, within and outside of IT.
* Deploy and maintain an EA repository.
* Lead the Architecture practice within Musgrave, ensuring the EA organisational design supports efficient and effective business and IT decision-making with empowered architecture resources.
* Identify critical skills, competencies and career paths for EA team members and arrange training to support career development.
* Regularly identify risks and issues and implement timely mitigation and remediation steps.
* Plan and coordinate architecture to ensure compliance with regulations, standards and requirements.
Area of Responsibility: Solutioning
* Introduce best practices in EA solution definitions and development procedures.
* Proactively demonstrate appropriate innovation opportunities (technical and process).
* Deliver architectural solutions that optimise the overall landscape, minimise customisation, and maximise value from investments and the application landscape.
* Mediate among multiple solution options and drive to optimal outcomes. Lead and facilitate workshops to align on architecture solutions with diverse stakeholders.
* Engage with vendors at all lifecycle stages to support, challenge, assess, validate and communicate on their solutions.
* Clearly delineate accountability and responsibility across architecture disciplines: enterprise, solution and application.
What we’re looking for
* Third-level IT qualification
* Architectural qualification (TOGAF/Zachman)
* 15+ years broad IT experience (Support, Development, PM, and solution architecture roles)
* Project team management experience
* Experience of large IT transformation projects across key architecture domains – Business, Data, Applications and Technology
* Understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies and processing environments
* Organisationally savvy with the ability to navigate the enterprise political climate
* Ability to balance long-term and short-term implications of decisions
* Analytical mindset and problem-solving能力

* Demonstrates very high personal professional standards and a focus on quality and business value
