Vincent Murray is working exclusively with a Public Sector Client to hire a Qualified Accountant on an initial 6-month contract in a Hybrid setting.
Your new company This Public Sector organisation is involved with leading-edge research and innovation at its Cork City site.
It is working at the forefront of science and technology to deliver impactful solutions for industry and society.
There is a Finance team of 8 and the team is expanding due to demand for its services.
We are looking for a skilled professional to join in supporting world-class research projects.
Your new role You will manage research grant funding and more.
In this role, you will: Provide analytical, financial, and administrative support for pre-award and post-award contract and grant management.
Provide advice and assistance on all aspects of relevant projects such as budget reviews and related financial administration.
Administer post-award project claims and financial management through to project completion and audit.
Business Partner with various teams across the business to ensure accurate reporting.
Assist researchers and partners with budget preparation and contract negotiations.
Develop strong working relations internally and externally with Program Managers, Commercialisation Specialists and the Contracts Unit of the relevant funding bodies You will work closely with Principal Investigators and project managers, ensuring compliance with funding guidelines and supporting the success of research projects.

The internal Job Title for this job is Research Contracts Administrator.
What you'll need to succeed You must be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, CPA, ACCA, CPA) directly from Practice or Industry.
Experience with financial reporting systems (e.g., Agresso, SAGE).
Skills in budget preparation, costings, and contract coordination.
Excel experience (Power BI would be an added Bonus).
Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with senior stakeholders.

Salary is on a Public Sector Scale, so I'm looking at €51,000 to €53,000 to start off.
