A leading tech giant based in Cork are seeking to bolster their team with a talented, self-driven CPU Design Verification Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with CPU and SoC architects to comprehend system-level concepts and translate high-level requirements into actionable verification goals.
* Create comprehensive test and coverage plans derived from architectural and micro-architectural specifications.
* Design scalable and portable verification methodologies applicable across various simulation and emulation environments.
* Build and maintain a robust verification environment, including components such as stimulus generators, checkers, assertions, trackers, and coverage models.
* Execute and monitor the verification process, from bring-up and regression testing to debugging failures and tracking progress using coverage and bug metrics.
Requirements:
* Expertise in microprocessor architecture and verification, including deep understanding of functions like cache coherence, memory ordering, consistency, prefetching, branch prediction, renaming, speculative execution, and address translation/memory management.
* Hands-on experience with Random Instruction Sequencing (RIS) for validating design correctness at both block/unit and subsystem/chip levels.
* Proven leadership in CPU verification, including managing small teams and driving successful execution of verification tasks.
* Skilled in advanced verification techniques, including formal methods, assertion-based verification, and silicon bring-up processes.
* Proficient in developing test plans and reusable verification environments, including portable testbenches, transactors, and assembly tests, with strong familiarity with industry tools such as simulators, coverage analysers, gate-level simulation, waveform viewers, and formal verification tools.
