AppLink in Enterprise Engineering is seeking a System Development Engineer to join our team building Amazon's unified platform for third-party SaaS deployment and lifecycle management at enterprise scale.
We manage 25+ 3P SaaS products, powering 500K+ annual operations for teams including Enterprise Service Delivery, Unified Communications, ITShop, AppSense, and MAX.
Key job responsibilities
Build scalable, fault-tolerant storage, indexing, and query systems underpinning AppLink's configuration, token management, and usage collection services — designed for high availability and low operational overhead.
Develop intelligent automation enabling proactive 3P SaaS governance, including StoneGate License Manager (SLiM), License Integration Management Engine (LiME), and HRIS Event Reactor for real-time deprovisioning.
Deliver **** roadmap initiatives including self-service workflow configuration — reducing platform team dependencies and increasing deployment velocity.
Partner with Security, IT Shop, and Service Management teams to ensure AppLink meets Amazon's security bar, compliance requirements, and operational excellence standards.
Mentor engineers, participate in hiring loops, and contribute to oncall rotation with proactive ticket management and production incident ownership.
A day in the life
Partner with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design and deliver AppLink's 3P lifecycle management platform, enabling secure, no-code SaaS integration across Amazon's enterprise ecosystem.
Architect and build distributed systems powering AppLink's core workflows — User Lifecycle Management, TokenFlow, LogFlow, and AccessFlow — at Amazon enterprise scale.
Develop intelligent automation and prediction systems enabling proactive lifecycle governance for 3P SaaS, including StoneGate License Manager and HRIS Event Reactor.
About the team
AppLink is a team of 11 engineers and 1 TPM, Dublin-based team with a strong engineering culture — investing in technical depth, career growth, and building systems that eliminate manual effort for hundreds of software owners across Amazon.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
