The Core Services team owns the charter of evaluating bad actor risk of all kinds (Buyer, Seller, Brand, Vendor) across entities such as Orders, Returns, Sign-ins, Listings and any event that will be useful to evaluate risky behavior.
We build self-service capabilities to experiment and launch new use cases while making it easy to on-board and manage existing ones all over the world.
We are the gate keepers of customer trust by preventing bad actors from doing damage to good customers or scamming Amazon.
The problems we solve will challenge the best in terms of scale (100s of billion evaluations) and latency (think milliseconds) while operating at the lowest cost.
As the Software Development Manager, you will have technical ownership of mission critical systems that drive the program.
You'll lead a talented and nimble team of engineers and will define the vision for the program.
You will build the team to deliver the vision.
Key job responsibilities
Direct management of a team of 8-10 engineers.
Process and quality of service improvements.
Strategic planning, project management for software within the team.
Management of resources across teams.
Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of engineering experience.
3+ years of people management, managing engineers experience.
Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent.
Experience communicating technical details verbally and in writing.
Experience in developing and executing an analytic vision to solve business-relevant problems.
Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company.
Experience with software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time.
Experience in a customer-facing role, engaging with customer executives, technologists or partners to solve business problems with advanced technologies.
