The Production Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure the efficient, safe, and hygienic processing of high-quality liquid egg products in line with company standards, food safety regulations, and customer requirements.
The role involves supervising and supporting production staff, maintaining compliance with HACCP and Health & Safety standards, and ensuring that output, quality, and efficiency targets are consistently achieved.
Role Profile
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervision & Team Management
* Supervise, support, and coordinate the activities of General Operatives and production team members across multiple production lines.
* Lead by example and maintain a positive, motivated, and productive team environment.
* Plan daily work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure adequate staffing across shifts.
* Support the onboarding, training, and performance development of production employees.
* Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and provide coaching and feedback.
Production Operations
* Ensure all production activities (intake, separation, bottling, packaging, labelling, order assembly, and dispatch) are carried out safely and efficiently.
* Oversee machine setup, changeovers, and operation to meet production schedules.
* Monitor production output, product quality, and downtime; take corrective action where necessary.
* Complete and verify all production, quality control, and process documentation accurately.
* Liaise with the Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics teams to maintain smooth workflow and timely product dispatch.
* Support and promote continuous improvement initiatives in efficiency, waste reduction, and product quality.
Health, Safety & Hygiene
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP requirements.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised production area at all times.
* Ensure all employees wear appropriate PPE and follow hygiene procedures.
* Report and act on any hazards, near-misses, or unsafe conditions.
* Promote a culture of safety, responsibility, and accountability among team members.
* Participate in health and safety audits, inspections, and training sessions as required.
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure all production activities adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company SOPs.
* Verify and sign off production records, process controls, and cleaning documentation.
* Support internal and external audits by ensuring full compliance and readiness.
Communication & Coordination
* Communicate production plans, targets, and updates effectively to team members.
* Collaborate with other departments to resolve operational issues promptly.
* Report key production metrics, issues, and improvement suggestions to management.
Other Duties
* Participate in continuous improvement projects as directed by management.
* Undertake other reasonable duties as assigned to meet business requirements.
* Demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing operational priorities.
Person Specification
Knowledge, Education & Experience:
· Minimum 2 years' experience in a production supervisory or team leader role, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG.
· Strong knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, and Health & Safety regulations.
· Experience coordinating production teams, managing output, and meeting targets.
· Proficient in production documentation, reporting systems, and basic computer applications.
· Experience with manufacturing machinery and process operations.
