We are seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our team, supporting both live projects and pre-construction activities.
Role Overview
This is a dual role combining project commercial management and estimating responsibilities. The successful candidate will assist with cost control, contract administration, valuations, and final accounts on live projects while also supporting tendering, take-offs, and pricing of new works.
Key Responsibilities
Project QS Duties
* Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets and cost reports.
* Measure and value works carried out on site.
* Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts.
* Support subcontractor procurement, payment applications, and account management.
* Maintain records of variations, claims, and change orders.
* Liaise with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
Estimating Duties
* Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
* Carry out material and labour take-offs.
* Prepare bills of quantities and pricing schedules.
* Request and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
* Assist in preparation of tender submissions and supporting documentation.
* Work with senior team members to develop competitive and accurate bids.
Skills & Attributes
* Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field (or working towards).
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Good knowledge of construction methods and measurement.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Excel essential); experience with QS/estimating software beneficial.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Eager to learn, detail-oriented, and capable of working as part of a team.
