Elusav Recruitmenty have a great opportunity for Design, Technical, Electrical & Commissioning Engineewith a leading Engineering company within the Wastewater and Water treatment space The Design, Technical, Electrical & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the design, technical support, installation oversight, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems across Water and Wastewater treatment projects.
The role bridges design engineering and site execution, ensuring systems are safe, compliant, efficient, and fully operational from concept through handover.
The projects largely are focused on projects and sites within the Limerick/Munster region.
Responsibility Develop electrical designs, schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, and specifications Perform load calculations, cable sizing, protection coordination, and equipment selection Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g. IEC, BS, IEEE, NEC, local codes) Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and vendor documentation Support value engineering and design optimization Provide technical guidance to project teams, site engineers, and contractors Troubleshoot design and installation issues during construction and commissioning Coordinate with mechanical, civil, automation, and instrumentation disciplines Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, FATs, and technical meetings Oversee electrical installation works to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications Conduct site inspections, progress checks, and quality audits Verify correct installation of panels, cabling, earthing, lighting, power systems, and control systems Prepare commissioning plans, procedures, and method statements Lead or support testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including: Power distribution systems Switchgear and protection systems Motors, drives, and MCCs UPS, generators, and backup systems Earthing and lightning protection systems Witness and review test results, identify defects, and ensure corrective actions Support system energization and performance verification Requirements Preferably a qualified Electrician with field work experience or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 2-5 years of experience in electrical design and commissioning Strong knowledge of electrical systems, standards, and best practices Experience working on industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects Familiarity with commissioning procedures and site activities Contact: If you would like to learn more about the vacancy, apply now, or contact Brendan Mullins on or Skills: electrician Commissioning design
