CALLING R&D ENGINEERS
My client are a global medical device organisation based in Galway and are looking to hire R&D Engineers across different areas of the business. Each role has it’s own niche but offers the same opportunity – a chance to become a key member of the R&D Team on various projects. Location: Galway - onsite
Levels: Technician III, Engineer I and Engineer II
Duration: 12 months contract
Non Negotiables for all roles
1. Must have a Stamp 4 visa/ EU Citizenship
2. Must be based in Ireland already and willing to be onsite full time or as needed
Role 1 – R&D Technician III
Key Duties:
* Interact with different departments and engineers to ensure builds are on the line and managed effectively
* Admin duties, organising POs, invoicing, inventory management in warehouse facility
* Be a self-starter, motivated and hungry to get in and take on what you can and aren’t looking for work but rather, you will go and find work.
* Need to be able to manage and prioritise workload (with the aid of an engineer)
* Having even a small bit of experience dealing with different functions would be great.
* Most important aspect of this role will be hands on testing and hands on build so you will ideally have experience in this.
Must have: Experience/understanding of test methods, test reports and use of test equipment along with a relevant scientific/engineering degree.
Role 2 – R&D Engineer I
Key Duties
* Designs, develops, analyses, troubleshoots and provides technical skills during research and/or product development.
* Designs studies to investigate specific life science questions within field of expertise.
* May be involved in product research and development and/or clinical trials.
* Translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products.
Must have: Broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education. Requires a University Degree, 0 years of experience required.
Role 3 – R&D Engineer II (Finite Element Analysis Focus)
Key Duties:
* Ideal candidate will have experience using abaqus but will consider other software packages
* Someone with strong enough experience in finite element analysis.
Day to Day duties
* Deployed on 2 projects on a 50-50 split.
* You will be working with design engineers on projects to identify areas to utillise finite element to solve complex designs
* You will help deciding how robust designs are and using finite element tools to do that.
Must have: Finite Element Experience. This can be industry experience or if attained in a Masters or PhD, this will suffice too.
Role 4 – R&D Engineer II (Micro Team)
Key Duties:
* Successful person working on micro team.
* Working on a project which is in late phase II/ early stage III of clinical trial.
* Main work you will be doing is hands on testing, test methods development, validation and test method execution.
Must Have: Level 8 degree but ideally a masters, 1-2 years of R&D experience and ability to get hands on as quickly as possible
