Job Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Nurse to join our children's service in Navan, Co. Meath.
The primary focus of this role is to deliver high-quality nursing care that meets the complex needs of residents with an intellectual disability, acquired brain injury or autism.
* Lead on the medical support and overall medication management for residents.
* Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to identify individual healthcare deficits and develop personalized care plans.
* Empower residents' personal growth, independence and quality of life by respecting, valuing and fostering their abilities.
* Collaborate with colleagues to implement resident-centred goals through the development, implementation and review of tailored programmes.
* Supervise and guide the team in delivering high-standard care plans for residents.
* Support residents in acquiring skills in self-care, home skills, community skills, interpersonal skills and leisure skills.
* Work closely with the team to maintain high standards of care, including ongoing review and management of GP clinics.
* Attend all hospital and GP appointments requiring nursing input.
* Carry out duties necessary to ensure the hygiene, comfort and care of residents at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
* Overseeing the medical needs of residents and delegating tasks as appropriate.
* Developing and implementing individualized care plans for each resident.
* Maintaining accurate records of resident care and progress.
* Providing training and support to colleagues to enhance their knowledge and skills.
* Participating in regular team meetings to discuss resident care and plan improvements.
* Engaging with external healthcare professionals to coordinate care and share best practices.
