Design Lead Position
We are seeking an experienced Design Lead to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to make a real impact in a growing organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Ensuring the design team delivers high-quality drawings and documents, and the delivery of the design brief/deliverables using technical building expertise.
2. Liaising with the Design Manager/Project Engineer Manager to complete the design of projects and ensure all requirements quoted are included in the design.
3. Reviewing specifications and documents to ensure all design deliverables are met in a timely manner, proposing cost-effective products and solutions while meeting specifications and requirements.
4. Reviewing and quality checking design drawings, documents, and procurement schedules with the Project Manager/Project Engineer prior to issue.
5. Reporting directly to supervisors/team leaders to ensure deadlines are met and details of the project are produced accurately and efficiently.
6. Liaising with the project management teams to update documents where necessary.
7. Ensuring that handover documentation is compiled and issued appropriately.
8. Providing information along with bills of materials to the procurement department to allow material orders.
9. Visiting site to problem-solve, ensure constructability, and record survey information.
10. Issuing documents to clients as requested.
11. Liaising with the Client and other stakeholders as required to ensure a smooth handover of the design package.
12. Producing technically sound architectural deliverables (drawings, specifications, schedules) using Revit, in accordance with project standards and schedule.
13. Ensuring all design work conforms to standards and is buildable. Contributing to the development of architectural standards and solutions.
14. Planning resources on projects ahead of schedule and project kick-off where possible.
This role requires:
* A Level 7 or 8 Qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.
* A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
* BIM Qualification desired.
* The ability to build rapport with clients.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and leading with a sense of urgency.
* Organised with a high attention to detail.
* Project Management qualification/diploma or equivalent desired.
* Knowledge of design software not limited to Revit and Navisworks.
* A proven track record of ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines using own initiative.
* The ability to work as part of a team.
