Fixed Term post -14 months (Part-time 0.5 FTE) or 7 months (Full-time, 1 FTE) g VID is a 2-year project funded by Enterprise Ireland's Commercialisation Fund that commenced at University College Cork in August 2025 and is progressing on schedule towards a minimum viable product (MVP).
The technology we have developed in g VID offers a comprehensive end-to-end solution for producing video ads using Generative AI.
The current focus of the project is developing a MVP and define the pathway to commercialisation based on allowing customers to significantly grow their return-from-investment from digital marketing.
We now seek a committed Research Support Officer (Commercialisation Lead) to join the team and guide the project towards a spin-out.
A suitable candidate will have entrepreneurial experience in the tech sector, ideally with knowledge of digital marketing/advertising and take responsibility for: Market opportunity assessment: Conduct detailed market segmentation and competitive analysis to identify, prioritise and support applications and early-adopter customers; quantify addressable market size, value propositions, and routes to market.
Business planning: Develop an investible Business Plan, including go-to-market strategy, regulatory considerations, and financial projections with the goal of securing sufficient investment to enable the start-up company to be formed at the end of the funded project.
Customer discovery: Engage new customer contacts through targeted outreach, site visits, conferences, trade shows, and digital channels, with the goal of identifying trial partners and building a pipeline of sustainable revenue stream for the start-up company.
Start-Up Formation: Support the formation of the spin-out company including successful License and Shareholders' Agreement with UCC.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a convincing interest in joining a team focused on commercialising innovative technology in the exciting and quickly developing generative AI area.

Further Details This Research Support Officer (Commercialisation Lead) position provides an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and inclusive Enterprise Ireland-funded team at University College Cork (UCC), hosted by UCC's nasc Research Centre and under the overall supervision of Prof.
Cormac Sreenan.
The individual appointed to this position will play a key role in the project, acting as the Commercialisation Lead, working to define and progress the path to commercialisation for the g VID product.
Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.

Salary: €70,000 per annum (pro rata) with the appointment either Part-Time (0.5 Full-Time Equivalent) for 14 months or Full-Time for 7 months Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
