The Department of Thoracic Surgery in MMUH is part of the national centre for cardiothoracic surgery and heart and lung transplantation.
This busy tertiary referral unit offers elective, urgent and emergency thoracic surgery.
The successful candidate would be assigned primarily to the thoracic surgery unit but would also be part of the cardiothoracic on call rota.
The thoracic surgery department is a high volume unit and the successful candidate would gain experience of managing the full range of thoracic specialist services.
Over 70% of all cases in our unit are performed via a minimally invasive approach, both robotic and thoracoscopic.
In addition to cancer surgery we offer many other services including lung volume reduction surgery, mediastinal surgery and complex airway procedures.
