Job Title: Urban Development Coordinator
The role of the Urban Development Coordinator involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver key local authority services. These include forward planning, development management, planning enforcement and project-based areas.
To be successful in this role, candidates must have a clear knowledge and understanding of local authority services and their key stakeholders and relationships, local government structures and its democratic role and mandate, current local government issues, future trends and strategic direction of the sector, management and implementation of change, and the future development of the area.
Candidates will operate under the direction of and report to the Senior Executive Planner/Senior Planner (Supervisors) of the Planning section to which they are assigned. They must undertake those duties as assigned to them by their supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the delivery of key local authority services including forward planning, development management, planning enforcement and project-based areas
* Work with colleagues to develop and implement plans and strategies for the area's future development
* Provide high-quality advice and guidance to stakeholders on local authority services and policies
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and partners
* Ensure that all work is delivered to a high standard and in accordance with local authority policies and procedures
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in a relevant field such as urban planning, geography or environmental science
* Relevant experience in a similar role or industry
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively
