Your New RoleAs an Assistant Accountant, you will support the Finance team with a broad range of accounting and reporting activities, gaining hands-on exposure to core financial processes. This is a developmental role, designed to build the technical and commercial capability required to progress into a full Accountant position.Key responsibilities will include:Supporting the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data under the guidance of senior finance colleaguesMonitoring performance against budgets and reporting variances in line with internal controls and regulatory requirementsAssisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including management accounts and balance sheet reconciliationsSupporting statutory accounting and compliance activities, including tax and regulatory requirementsParticipating in the month-end close process, including coordination of reporting deadlines and preparation of board-level informationProducing financial analysis and ad-hoc reports to support improvement initiatives and business projectsResponding to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholdersSupporting the effective use of finance systems and data management toolsContributing to a strong control environment and identifying areas of non-compliance or process improvementYou will also play an active role in promoting a safety-first, inclusive, and values-driven culture across the finance function.3. What You'll Need to SucceedTo be considered for this role, you will ideally have:A university degree or vocational qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline6-12 months of relevant work experience (including undergraduate placements where applicable)Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and key performance indicatorsExcellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong communication skills, with confidence engaging a range of stakeholdersA proactive mindset, with an interest in continuous improvement and learningCompetency in finance systems and digital tools, with the ability to adapt to new technologiesNo formal management experience is required, as this role is focused on professional development.4.
