Programme Facilitator – The Bridge Co Kildare

Job Purpose

To support the service (residential community and day service) in developing and fostering a person‑centred culture, with an aim to achieve high quality personal outcomes within the ethos of CCoI and the regulatory and contractual requirements. To manage and lead inclusive programmes, training and social role opportunities for participants, and to provide meaningful work, training and personal development opportunities for people according to their ability, personal choice and vocational interests.

Contribute, report to and engage with the local management team in providing effective management oversight and safeguarding of people and operational management of the programme and its activities. Develop proposals for management that support new opportunities and initiatives with potential to add value to the experience of residents, day attendees and trainees, including approaches to best practice around the principles of social inclusion for persons with a disability, social enterprise, employment and social role opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

* Understand and uphold the values and ethos of Camphill Communities of Ireland.
* Uphold and apply all practices and reporting requirements associated with company and HSE statutory requirements on safeguarding and protection of vulnerable adults/children.
* Promote the safety and wellbeing of all members while respecting their right to independent decision making.
* Contribute to the establishment of policies, systems and practices that comply with legislation, company policies and best practice.
* Help develop the strategic vision of the community and associated activities.
* Constructively challenge bad practice where encountered.
* Direct and supervise the workload and practices of employees, co‑workers and volunteers, supporting prioritisation.
* Build and maintain relationships of trust with adults with support needs, co‑workers, employees and volunteers.
* Ensure suitable staffing to cover all activities and care support needs, through effective management of schedules, leave and training.
* Participate in the Management Group or other designated group.
* Maintain knowledge of the mission, values and purpose of Camphill Communities of Ireland.
* Work in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Adhere to HIQA Standards, New Directions Standards and other company standards.
* Engage in inspections and audits by the Company, HIQA and HSE.
* Engage in personal and professional development to meet changing role requirements.


Main Tasks

* Plan work for people with support needs, identifying best activities and providing guidance and motivation.
* Create a positive working environment and group dynamic.
* Ensure people with support needs are engaged, emotionally supported and sufficiently challenged.
* Act as a Key Worker for specific individuals.
* Develop and implement person‑centred plans for key workers, ensuring identified needs are addressed and participating in resident reviews.
* Assist people with support needs in their work and supervise tasks as required.
* Participate in reviews and support meetings with social care coordinators and other staff.
* Provide clarity on policies and reporting lines for staff.
* Ensure adherence to timetabling roster, report absences, supervise punctuality and work quality.
* Notify Management group of concerning behaviour.
* Attend relevant meetings.
* Work under limited supervision, following standardised practices and methods.
* Lead and facilitate regular programmes in line with New Directions.
* Negotiate holidays to minimise disruption.
* Maintain the programme diary.
* Apply health and safety regulations, compiling risk assessments where necessary.
* Ensure equipment is safe, clean and functional.
* Formulate programme plans for each year.
* Prepare necessary materials, resources and expertise.
* Keep responsible area clean, pleasant and tidy.
* Supervise tea breaks.
* Maintain required documentation.
* Conduct risk assessments for vulnerable adults.
* Manage visitor safety when engaged in programme activities.


Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

* Level 6 or above qualification in Social Care or equivalent in health, education or allied field.
* At least 2 years’ experience working with adults with intellectual disability/autism.
* Experience running programmes for adults with intellectual disability/autism.
* Understanding of the New Directions model of day support services and willingness to promote it.
* Ability to support, coach, manage and motivate a mixed workforce of volunteers and employees.

Details of the Role

Salary Scale: €33,758 to €39,398 (pro‑rata based on 40 hours) – commencing at the first point of the scale.

Location: The Bridge Community, Kilcullen, Co Kildare.

Contract: Permanent Part Time – Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

Closing date: 28th November 2025.
