This position is best suited for a proactive individual who can work independently, providing accurate estimates and sound commercial input across all project stages.Key ResponsibilitiesTender Review & Analysis:Review mechanical tender documentation, specifications, and drawings to identify the full scope of works, potential risks, and missing information.Accurately interpret project requirements and prepare detailed cost breakdowns based on the scope, design, and client requirements.Estimating & Cost Planning:Prepare accurate mechanical cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for HVAC, plumbing, and associated mechanical systems.Conduct rate analysis, value engineering, and prepare competitive tender submissions.Procurement Support:Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations. Assess and compare quotations to ensure technical and commercial compliance.Cost Management & Control:Assist in project budgeting, cost monitoring, and reporting. Maintain cost databases and ensure cost data accuracy for future benchmarking.Variation & Change Control:Identify and evaluate design or site changes and their financial implications. Prepare variation claims and cost adjustments promptly.Collaboration & Coordination:Work closely with design engineers, project managers, and site teams to align technical details with commercial accuracy.Support the project team during pre- and post-contract stages with clear cost guidance and financial insight.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.Minimum 2+ years of experience in mechanical estimating or quantity surveying within HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical services.Technical knowledge of mechanical systems.Proficiency in reading and interpreting tender drawings and specifications — can quickly understand scope and intent at a glance.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software is a plusAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.Understanding of construction processes, project sequencing, and material take-offs.
