An established international design technology company is looking to hire a
Principal Digital Design Engineer
to join their team in Cork. This position plays a key role in advancing the security and safety of automotive semiconductor systems—ensuring new technology meets the latest compliance and risk management standards.
You will collaborate closely with technical leaders across architecture, software development, and quality engineering to help define and verify security features in automotive-focused silicon solutions.
This is a unique opportunity to take on a senior engineering role within a forward-thinking R&D team, working on next-generation silicon IP for the automotive domain. You'll be contributing to projects that impact real-world technologies, including autonomous driving, EV systems, and connected car architectures.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Driving the integration of cybersecurity and functional safety into automotive chip development.
* Performing structured risk evaluations and security analyses on complex hardware/software systems.
* Building and executing test strategies to validate alignment with project-level security goals.
* Supporting internal engineering groups to incorporate security practices at various design stages.
* Maintaining clear documentation to track requirements and support compliance reviews.
* Participating in preparation for audits and functional safety assessments.
What We're Looking For:
* Bachelor's or Master's in Electronic Engineering or a related field
* Proven experience in 4+ sucusseful tapeouts
* Strong expertise in RTL Design in Verilog or System Verilog
* Familiarity with standards such as ISO21434 (cybersecurity) and ISO functional safety) is highly desirable but not essential
* Experience preferably working on embedded security or safety projects
