The initial focus will be on enabling projects, requiring close collaboration with our partner. Overview
Reporting to the IT Transformation Manager, the IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for maintaining the data centre infrastructure and collaborating with a managed service provider for Tirlán’s data centres and server infrastructure. The role includes overseeing the work performed and managing operational aspects of the service provider relationship.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work closely with the managed services provider to set up, configure, and maintain hardware and software components within the data centre, such as servers, storage, and operating systems.
2. Oversee the core components of the Microsoft IT Infrastructure, including Active Directory and related services, ensuring security, availability, performance, and timely resolution of technical issues.
3. Supervise and direct managed service providers during routine maintenance and upgrades, ensuring compliance with security policies and controls.
4. Ensure data centre and IT infrastructure compliance with security standards and regulations; implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
5. Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to support new initiatives and projects.
6. Participate in incident management related to data centre and IT infrastructure, liaising with service management, partners, and application teams.
7. Contribute to the strategic development of Tirlan’s central IT infrastructure.
Key Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. 8-10 years of experience in Microsoft IT Infrastructure or similar roles.
3. Experience with IT infrastructure services like Microsoft Active Directory.
4. Proven experience working with managed service providers managing data centres and infrastructure.
5. Knowledge of security standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
6. Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware and hardware, OS, storage technologies.
7. Understanding of data backup and disaster recovery processes.
8. Networking experience is advantageous.
9. Experience with Cloud Services is desirable.
10. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
11. Team player with a growth mindset.
