We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Estimating team at our Head Office in Limerick.
The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently while actively collaborating with the estimating team to create thorough and competitive tender proposals.
The successful candidate will operate within a dynamic team environment, contributing to both Design & Build and Traditional tender processes across a variety of projects. The Senior Estimator will be tasked with presenting the initial tender commercial evaluation for review and approval by company directors.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Proficient in assessing tender documentation (including Drawings, Specifications, BOQ’s, Schedules, Contracts, etc.) and overseeing the tender process from initial receipt to final submission.
Responsible for issuing material and trade inquiries to the supply chain, as well as soliciting quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
Conduct thorough analysis, evaluation, and risk assessment of supplier and subcontract packages, ensuring comprehensive coverage and reviewing inclusions and exclusions.
Review tender inquiries and analysis for projects, highlighting any concerns or suggesting value engineering adjustments as necessary.
Recognise opportunities and deficiencies within tender documents to leverage commercial advantages.
Aid in the compilation of submissions, including inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and program of works.
Communicate and provide updates to senior management regarding ongoing project submissions.
You Will Have:
Demonstrated track record in estimating within the Irish market for over 5 years.
A relevant 3rd level qualification in engineering, construction, quantity surveying or a related field.
Previous experience in tendering for projects ranging from €1m to €100m is essential.
Sound familiarity with subcontractors, construction outputs, and pricing for labour, equipment, and materials.
Proficient grasp of data analysis techniques.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a strong aptitude for teamwork.
Competent in handling tender documentation and diligent in report submission.
Proficiency in computer usage, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and preferably with experience in estimating software.
