Hartley People Recruitment in partnership with our client are hiring for an Employee Relations Partner in Waterford (Part-Time, 3 Days/Week).
About the Role
In this client-facing position, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio, delivering expert HR support and advice across various sectors. You will lead workplace investigations, manage change initiatives, advise on performance and employee lifecycle matters, and act as the outsourced HR point of contact for select clients. Your work will directly influence positive workplace cultures and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clear, practical advice on employment law and employee relations issues, including disciplinary matters, grievances, performance management, and dignity at work.
* Lead workplace investigations with a focus on fairness and legal compliance.
* Support clients through organisational changes such as restructures, redundancies, and TUPE processes.
* Develop and update employment documentation in line with legislative changes and client needs.
* Guide clients through employee lifecycle processes from onboarding to exits.
* Offer conflict resolution strategies and promote early intervention approaches.
* Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of services and documentation.
* Monitor service levels and maintain detailed, accurate case records.
* Drive improvements in workflows and consistency in service delivery.
* Track time and activities for project and billing purposes.
* Act as the dedicated HR partner for assigned clients, advising on compliance, performance, culture, and day-to-day operations.
* Build client capability through proactive, consistent support.
* Cultivate long-term, trusted relationships with clients.
* Support business development through proposals and insights.
* Serve as a senior resource within the consultancy, providing guidance and contributing to case management and workflow planning.
* Help foster a collaborative, knowledge-sharing team environment.
What You Bring
* Degree in HR, Business, Law, or equivalent experience.
* 6–8+ years' experience in HR/Employee Relations, ideally in a consultancy setting.
* Strong working knowledge of Irish employment law.
* Proven ability to handle complex ER cases and organisational change.
* Excellent communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills.
* High attention to detail, professional integrity, and strong judgment.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and as part of a team.
Additional Details
* Part-time: 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday).
* Primarily office-based, with some hybrid flexibility.
* Occasional travel to client sites across Ireland required.
* Full driving licence needed & own transport
* Some flexibility required to meet client demands outside regular hours.
