The business also has long-standing relationships with many of Ireland's leading Foodservice providers.Job SummaryThe Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and controls used in bakery manufacturing operations. This role ensures minimal downtime, optimal production efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance & RepairPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on bakery production equipment such as ovens, mixers, conveyors, proofers, slicers, and packaging machines.Troubleshoot electrical and control issues including motors, sensors, relays, contactors, PLCs, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).Inspect electrical systems, wiring, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments.Replace or repair defective electrical components and equipment.Installation & UpgradesInstall new electrical systems, equipment, and controls for new production lines or plant upgrades.Support equipment commissioning and ensure compliance with local electrical codes and company standards.Assist with automation improvements and control system updates (PLC programming, HMI interfaces, etc.).Preventive Maintenance (PM)Execute routine PM schedules on all electrical and control systems to minimize unplanned downtime.Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report equipment condition and work performed.Safety & ComplianceFollow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and food safety regulations.Ensure compliance with electrical codes, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and plant hygiene standards.Participate in safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives.Teamwork & CommunicationCollaborate with mechanical maintenance staff and production operators to identify and resolve issues.Provide technical support and training to other technicians if required.QualificationsEducation & Experience:Diploma or certificate in Electrical or Industrial Maintenance Technology (or equivalent).3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance within a food manufacturing or industrial environment (bakery experience preferred).Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of electrical systems (single-phase and three-phase).Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).Knowledge of VFDs, sensors, control circuits, and motor controls.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).Other Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Good communication and teamwork abilities.Mechanical experience is an advantage.Work EnvironmentManufacturing bakery plant with exposure to heat, noise, and production equipment.Shift Monday to Friday, from 12:00 noon till 20:00 pm.Weekends ( if required).Holiday Cover (if required) shift from 16:00 pm till 12.30 amPlease note, Bakery is located in Clonsilla, Dublin 15.There is NO public transport.You need to live in the area or own the car to commute.Job Type: Full-timePay: €50,000.00-€51,000.00 per yearBenefits:Bike to work schemeCompany pensionEmployee assistance programOn-site parkingExperience:Electrical: 3 years (required)Language:English (required)Work authorisation:Ireland (required)Work Location: In personReference ID: Bakelec
