Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Manager reports to the Director of Operations at ABEC Ireland. This role is responsible for maintaining on-time deliveries, high quality, and improving production efficiencies through resource planning, lean manufacturing techniques, and disciplined processes. The goal is to achieve low-cost production while ensuring customer satisfaction. The manager will collaborate with product development teams for optimal integration of product and production processes and foster a work environment that promotes employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise production line flow, including staffing and equipment adjustments to ensure schedules are met.
* Manage all manufacturing personnel's activities, maintaining visibility and accessibility.
* Evaluate manufacturing operations for improvements using effective metrics and standards.
* Coordinate with Quality Control to uphold quality standards and address deficiencies.
* Work with scheduling to align staffing with business needs.
* Train, motivate, coach, reward, and discipline staff; foster teamwork.
* Enforce safety policies and ensure safety training; investigate accidents.
* Resolve production issues collaboratively with other departments.
* Assign duties, monitor work quality, and ensure compliance with policies and legal guidelines.
* Maintain knowledge of equipment and capacity to meet production needs.
* Identify potential barriers and propose solutions proactively.
* Set departmental goals aligned with strategic planning.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, empowering team participation.
* Supervise manufacturing employees directly.
* Perform management tasks in accordance with company policies and laws.
* Handle hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewards, and disciplinary actions.
* Address manufacturing process and personnel issues, proposing solutions.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
* Travel as required.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree (Level 8) preferred but not essential.
* 3-5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing.
* Ability to read engineering drawings.
* Experience with capacity planning for personnel and equipment.
* Ability to train and motivate staff to improve quality, KPIs, and profitability.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Flexible, innovative, and able to set priorities.
* Strong business acumen and facilitation skills.
* Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
* Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
* Strong organizational and planning skills.
