Cork University Hospital invites applications for the position of Physicist, Chief (Radiology & Nuclear Medicine) in Radiology Physics as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality radiology physics services to the Cork-Kerry region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish, lead, develop and manage the Radiology Physics Department in Cork University Hospital.
* Provide leadership to support the hospital group in meeting its legal requirements.
* Support the expansion and development of Radiology systems including MRI and Ultrasound.
* Initiate and develop new projects within the physics department and hospital network.
* Lead education and training programs.
* Promote collaborative research and development activities in medical physics.
The Radiology Physics Department provides services to multiple hospitals including Cork University Hospital, University Hospital Kerry, Bantry General Hospital, Mallow General Hospital, and St. Finbarr's Hospital serving over 740,000 people in the Cork and Kerry regions.
Radiology Physics plays a vital role in supporting clinical services through scientific expertise and education contributing towards postgraduate courses and clinical research.
In addition to acute hospital services, the department offers radiopharmacy services and supports radiotherapeutic use of radio-isotopes at Cork University Hospital.
