Client side Senior Safety Advisor required for a leading global pharmaceutical client; Dublin based.
• Full time senior safety adviser role based on-site.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior role with formal qualification in health & safety management; with relevant experience in pharmaceutical and construction Health & Safety management.
• Extensive experience in contractor communications, and liaising with design teams, and other project professionals.
• Degree and/or certification in Health & Safety profession.
• Strong communication skills with associated excellent reporting skills.
The project will involve the management of significant high-risk activities of the project.
In addition to its statutory Health & Safety obligations, the Client wish to ensure that the highest standards of Health & Safety management are implemented by all contractors across the project. The appointed Construction Safety Adviser to represent the Client in overseeing the implementation of high standards of Health & Safety management across each construction site.
The Consultant Construction Safety Advisor role can be summarized to include:
• Ensure the site based personnel comply with the national statutory Health & Safety requirements for the construction project
• Where practicable implement best practice, and lessons learned, across each project.
• Enhance, and improve, existing construction safety management procedures through a visible on-site presence, and through active participation in all aspects of day-to-day Health & Safety management on the projects.
•Implement a construction safety management program across the project.
• Assist on an as needed bases in the development of specific safety programs.
• Provide an independent review, and oversight, of construction Health & Safety management procedures in place for each project; with a view to cross- evaluation of projects, sharing lessons learned / best practice, and driving continuous improvement across the construction supply chain.
• Assisting in the identification, and management, of high-risk activities at each stage of the projects; including liaising with design teams and working with contractors in forward safety planning and co-ordination of works activities.
• Monitoring and reporting of Site teams Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assessment and evaluation across all construction projects.
• Reviewing, and assessing, the health & safety implications of changes as they occur during construction.
• Developing, and implementing, reporting and communications structures on Health & Safety management performance for each project to enable accurate assessment and evaluation.
• Monitoring compliance between Health & Safety planning and actual works on site; assessing compliance with agreed KPIs across all project stages;
HRA auditing and inspections
communications of Health & Safety at all levels;
co-ordination of work activities on the sites;
identification, assessment, and evaluation of high-risk activities;
training and education;
reviews of RAMS, safe plans of action, lifting plans, etc.
Competency of contractors and operatives.
• Assessment of accidents, incidents, & near-miss reporting; including the evaluation of findings and monitoring the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
• On-going assessment of the resources provided by contractors to enable
implementation of the contractor's safety management program.
• Encouraging, and promoting, Health & Safety initiatives aimed at influencing positive safety behaviour on the site.
• Encouraging, and promoting, contractor participation in structured Health & Safety awards schemes by recognized bodies.
