About the Role:
We are seeking to fill the position of Resident Engineer – Civil for a regional-based role in Co. Kilkenny with candidates having at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of the site supervision team on Water and Wastewater infrastructure projects in a growing Irish-owned company where efficient procedures and processes are essential.
The successful candidate will be an integral member of our team, working with staff to ensure the highest quality standards are achieved in all activities and services provided to clients.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Liaison and management of the Resident Engineers' Team members.
* Reporting to the Employer’s Representative.
* Handling contractual matters on-site related to the works.
* Coordinating contract interfaces regarding the works.
* Liaison with stakeholders.
* Assessing contractor claims and preparing reports.
* Assessing contractor payment applications against work completed.
* Assessing contractor performance against contractual KPIs.
* Reviewing contractor submissions, including method statements, and providing clear comments.
* Reviewing contractor design submissions against employer requirements and providing feedback.
* Supervising works, maintaining records, measuring, managing correspondence, and contractual documentation.
* Performing other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
* Degree in Civil Engineering.
* Satisfactory knowledge of civil engineering works, building construction, and project management.
* At least 7 years of post-graduate experience, with a minimum of 5 years in on-site supervision, contract administration, and project management of civil works.
* Experience in constructing water/wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, pumping stations, deep excavations, marine outfalls, civil structures, or similar.
* Ability to write clear, concise reports and maintain work records.
* Proficiency in computer use for document handling and report production.
* Full Clean Driving License.
* Satisfactory knowledge of construction contracts.
* Attention to detail and compliance with Quality Assurance Management Systems.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
* Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
