About the Role
My client is seeking a talented Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer based in Ireland to join their high-performing globally located team. You'll play a key role in designing and developing scalable data platforms that power modern financial markets infrastructure. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll work on genuinely interesting technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop scalable, high-performance databases and data platforms
* Architect complex data solutions from conception through deployment
* Build intuitive GUI tools for data visualization and user interaction
* Maintain and optimize critical data services with a focus on reliability
* Manage data security, backups, and compliance requirements
* Integrate and manage third-party data sources
* Participate in on-call support rotations
Essential Experience:
* 5-10 years working as a data engineer
* 5+ years of professional experience with KDB+/Q
* Strong Python skills
* Advanced Linux proficiency
* Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities
* Strong communicator and collaborative team player
* Adaptable and eager to take on diverse challenges
Bonus Skills:
* KX Dashboards experience
* Java or C++ knowledge
* Cloud platform experience (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
* Understanding of financial products, particularly equities would be a bonus
