We have an exciting vacancy for a Heavy Plant Operator to join our busy and expanding Post-Production team at FLI Precast Solutions, a leading precast manufacturer. The Heavy Plant Operator will assist in the movement of products around the site and the final loading of products for dispatch.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operate a range of heavy plant machinery including, but not limited to, Combilift Skip, Shunter, various size Forklifts, Straddle Carrier, etc.
2. Act as banksman for gantry crane operation, including goliath crane.
3. Serve as relief operator for goliath crane.
4. Assist in strapping down loads.
5. Provide on-the-job training to trainees.
6. Learn from senior team members.
7. Perform all tasks in accordance with health, safety, and quality standards.
8. Keep work area clean and free of hazards.
9. Act as a role model for health and safety practices.
10. Complete other reasonable tasks as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience operating heavy plant vehicles and lifting equipment is an advantage.
2. Experience in moving heavy loads is an advantage.
3. Experience in the precast industry is an advantage but not essential.
4. Knowledge of precast lifting and movement processes is an advantage.
5. Enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to learn.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Flexible with duties and working hours.
8. Respectful of health and safety rules.
9. Keen attention to detail.
10. Good timekeeping and attendance record.
Additional Information:
1. Willing to work day shifts Monday to Friday with occasional weekend overtime.
2. Training will be provided.
