We place them at the heart of what we do, providing challenging opportunities to develop within a great team in a supportive environment that allows them to reach their full potential.Scope of Role:Delivering Training to PlannersDelivering Training to Project Teams, Package Managers etc.Creating specific development plans and syllabi for PlannersCreating specific development plans and syllabi for Project Team MembersSupport following trainingWorking with Training & Development Dept to deliver training to all new startsRole requires deep knowledge of Mercury's processes and systems and is not suitable for an outside candidateKey Responsibilities of the Role:Reports to Director of PlanningMember of the Planning Department Management TeamResponsible for delivering training and coaching to Planners & Planning ManagersResponsible for delivering training to Project Team MembersTravelling to projects, as required, to carry out the above dutiesResponsible for developing training programmes for the above in line with company proceduresResponsible for developing quantitative assessment criteria to determine knowledge and development level of planners and project team membersAssisting in the hiring process for Planners, assessing level of development against our criteriaPromoting Schedule Literacy across the businessWorking with Training & Development Department to ensure that training aligns with corporate objectivesAdvising on and developing best practice for the companyImproving and advancing Planning within the companyAssisting with Planning Department innovation initiativesDeveloping and updating training materials and documentationMonitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training programmesProviding feedback and development plans for Planners and Project Team MembersFacilitating workshops and training sessions, both in person and virtuallyMaintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices in planning and schedulingSupporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Planning DepartmentCollaborating with other departments to identify training needs and gapsEnsuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies during training activitiesPreparing regular reports on training progress and outcomesMentoring junior members of the Planning TeamWhere necessary, occasionally assisting the business in standard Planning Management dutiesAll other duties associated with the roleCore CompetenciesPlanning KnowledgeTrack record of training & developing Planners, Planning ManagersTrack record of delivering training to Project TeamsEssential CriteriaThe ideal candidate will have a minimum 15 years' experience in PlanningThe ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years' experience in Planning Management Role.Deep knowledge of Mercury's proceduresTravel will be required for this positionMercury is an equal opportunities employer.
