Assistant Project Manager – Wastewater Above Ground Programme (Civil Engineering)

Are you a skilled Civil or Environmental Engineering professional with experience in the wastewater sector? This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Assistant Project Manager on a Wastewater Above Ground Programme for Uisce Eireann. This exciting opportunity involves managing projects related to constructed wetlands; phosphorus removal; chemical safety; inlet works, storm and sludge; energy efficiency; HSQE; and pressure vessels etc.
WPR is partnering with a global consultancy who has an established relationship with Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) for the delivery of essential water and wastewater network projects. Due to the recent awarding of a major contract in the Wastewater Above Ground Programme, we are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to join the team based anywhere in Ireland and report to the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
As a key member of the Engineering Wastewater Team, your duties will include:
1. Project and Budget Management: Oversee the day-to-day planning, design progress, and construction management of wastewater network projects, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
2. Lifecycle Representation: Represent the employer throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to completion.
3. Feasibility and Planning: Produce feasibility studies, option appraisals, cost plans, and business cases.
4. Collaborative Design: Work with other design team members in an integrated approach.
5. Procurement Management: Prepare contract documents, drawings, and specifications for procurement.
6. Construction Monitoring: Manage project progress against the program, monitor costs, and ensure quality assurance during the construction phase.
Key Attributes and Experience:
1. Qualifications: A third-level qualification in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
2. Experience: A minimum of 2 years' project management experience in civil engineering, with a preference for experience in the water or wastewater sector.
3. Skills: Excellent communication skills, particularly in report writing and client liaison; contract administration is desirable.
4. Technical Knowledge: A working knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous.
