Lead Cost and Inventory Accountant
The Lead Cost & Inventory Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
This key position works closely with the Costing & Inventory Senior Manager to provide analysis, maintain inventory controls, and partner with cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiency.
* Maintain and update standard costs; lead the annual cost refresh.
* Analyse manufacturing variances (PPV, absorption, freight, scrap, etc.) and provide cost insights for pricing and new product decisions.
* Complete monthly inventory close activities, journal entries, and reconciliations.
* Collaborate with Operations to strengthen inventory processes and controls.
* Monitor inventory levels, manage cycle counts, and assess aged/obsolete stock.
* Ensure accurate valuation in line with accounting standards and support audits.
Requirements
We seek an experienced professional with 5+ years in cost accounting or financial analysis, preferably in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.
* ERP experience required; SAP preferred.
* Experience supporting internal/external audits.
* Skills: Advanced Excel; Power BI experience Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
